Sabath Day Thoughts

What a wonderful day it was. As usual our faithful son, reverently prepared the Sacrament for all to partake of. Also, Lanelle and Bo gave incredible talks. All of a sudden, our daughter became this outstanding speaker. She looked so at ease, had wonderful eye contact with the entire congregation, and she made me cry, when she used her personal examples. Bo did great as well, but I was so intent on both there talks, that I forgot to take any notes. So the quote I will share today is actually from the youth speaker, it's from a sign on the wall at his school. It reads something like this: "You keep on getting what you've been getting, when you keep on doing what you've been doing."

Lesson Learned !!!

I have got to start listening to the Spirit better, or at least acting on those promptings! Today I had to take Chris to the doctor due to a sinus infection, and when the doctor handed me the prescription I was prompted to ask if the antibiotic was NOT a member of the Cephalosporin Family (due to Christopher's allergies) but I thought to myself there's no way the doc will goof, because Chris has been a patient of his for four years. Well I should remember than anyone can make a mistake, it did happen to be one that he was allergic to. But luckily the Pharmacy Technician caught the mistake, so the Lord was watching out for us, even though I failed to do my part. But I learned a huge lesson today about speaking up, even if it might be a little awkward!!

Thought provoking question?

A while back in church we were asked, "what would you most like to be remembered for" now that's a tough one. There are so many things that I wish to be remembered for, hopefully a good mother, a good wife, a kind person, the list could go on and on. But the one thing that I would like to be remembered for the most, is my testimony of Jesus Christ and his Atonement. I have come to learn that without that, my life would be a whole lot different, and not in a good way. I am so grateful for the testimony I have, for my life, my family, and all that I have been blessed with. I could never thank my Heavenly Father enough, for the blessings I've been given.

Awesome Quote ...

... I don't remember who said this, but I love it. "One who has the power to calm the elements of the earth, has the power to calm our souls"

Yes, I'm having more brainfarts !!!

I realized the other day, that with everything going on with Sissy's wedding etc. that I have neglected not only taking pictures of our son, but posting them as well. I feel like a terrible mother! So here are a few pictures of our boy, being his silly self!! The first is him peering through some wrapping paper, and if you enlarge the picture, you can actually see his eyes. The next is he and his dad swimming at a motel swimming pool (with some relatives) while they were in town for the wedding. And the third, is clear back at Christmastime, which seems like forever ago now. Anyhow, I will try not to be so air headed anymore, but that's kind of a lifelong thing with me!!!

Can you see Christopher ???

Something Extremely Personal !!!

I have to share something that has been driving me crazy. I have felt horrible lately, experiencing things I have never felt before. So yesterday I finally started researching some of my symptoms, and I discovered that I am going through menopause! I knew I had started, but I had 35 out of 35 symptoms!! I have a new found admiration for women that have gone through this, some days it is difficult to function!!!

Lanelle and Bo's Wedding Day !!!

I have so many beautiful pictures of their wedding day, but I haven't gotten them transferred over yet. Her uncle Dave took them, and we won't have the pictures that Sister Riggs took, for a couple weeks yet. But I had to post one of the few pictures I took, then when I realized that I didn't have to worry about taking any more, I just focused on watching our girl and her new hubby!
