Stake Conference

What an outstanding day, we had Elder Quentin L. Cook, an Apostle of God, speak at our conference. What a speaker, he was so down to earth, and very funny as well. He really made me think, as he spoke figuratively of whether we have our tent door turned toward the world or towards the Temple. He said we ultimately make that decision each and every day, what a thought.
The Spirit was so strong there today, that when we sang our closing hymn, I just started crying. For no other reason than the fact that I was so happy, and thankful for my life. I truly know that after the trial of our faith, come the blessings. And I am so thankful for all of mine.

Happy St. Patty's Day !!!

We had a blast today! Even though Lanelle had to work most of the day, we went over to her and Bo's for an early dinner. We brought over a veggie tray, with nothing but green veggies on it, and green dip of course. Bo had made traditional corned beef and cabbage, as he has a little Irish in him. And then for dessert, we had Shamrock Floats (mint chip ice cream and sprite) out on the gazebo. It was great, and a balmy 54 degrees today. We had better enjoy it, because our high on Friday is going to be 18, ouch!!

I love this church !!!

Today I had to stay home due to a pinched nerve in my back. And I was quite depressed, because I wouldn't get to soak up the spirit this week. But then I went to the BYU channel on the internet, and I was able to listen to the Spoken Word, and a documentary on The Mormon Tabernacle Choir. It was wonderful! You know I hear some family's that won't allow TV's or Computers in there homes, and it frustrates me. It's just like anything else in life, we just have to have the restraint to use it wisely. We can be in the world, without being of the world (I think that's the saying). Anyway, I love the church for utilizing technology for our benefit, it made my Sunday a lot better!!

Christopher's Birthday !!!

We had a great time, and I can't believe our boy is 15 already. He can't wait to get his learners permit, so he can start driving! Time goes much too fast, for mothers anyway. Sometimes you just want them to stay little forever, but I know that would be very selfish!!

Target Shooting

Chris loves going to the shooting range with his dad, and he is an outstanding shot. The very first time he ever shot at a target, he hit the bulls-eye three out of five shots. And it wasn't just the bulls-eye, it was the red dot in the middle of the bulls-eye, which is only the size of a pencil eraser. They say that all autistic children are extremely gifted in certain things, well I think target shooting is one of Christopher's strengths, and it has really built up his self esteem.
